Friend—
I am proud of how Health GAP has taken action, every month, in protest of the assault of Trump on life saving HIV programs like PEPFAR.
From delivering a mountain of coffins to the State Department to zapping AIDS denialist RFK Jr. during his high-profile Senate testimony on dismantling global health funding and research, to supporting Community-Led Monitoring to document harms from brutal cuts, we are showing up in the fight for health justice.
Giving Tuesday is more than a hashtag for us. Giving Tuesday helps us fill funding gaps in a time where philanthropies are cutting their budgets, especially for advocacy.
Your gift means we will continue to build powerful, vibrant AIDS and health justice activist campaigns to fight for global HIV treatment and prevention programs into 2026 and beyond.

Amidst the chaos, it is easy to forget that we have reason for hope. Lenacapavir, the revolutionary twice-yearly injectable for HIV PrEP, holds incredible promise to defeat new HIV infections—but not if drug company greed and Trump’s budget cuts stand in the way.
Trump plans little more than a series of minuscule lenacapavir pilot programs that will have virtually no effect on changing the course of the pandemic—a “whimper and not a roar,” as Asia, our Executive Director recently told the New York Times. But even this flawed State Department plan only came about because of relentless activist pressure. We won’t give up until we secure a real plan to reach everyone who needs this powerful prevention tool. It will not be easy. But your support will help make it possible.
Sincerely,
Amanda Lugg
