Subject: Blocking AIDS funding? Really?

Dear MoveOn member,

Sometimes it's hard to believe these politicians are serious.

Right now, seven uber-conservative senators are blocking a bill that would
save millions of lives--and prevent millions more from getting infected
with malaria, TB, and HIV. Even their fellow conservatives have called
these extremists "indifferent to human suffering."

But Senate leader Harry Reid won't put it to a vote due to arcane Senate
customs--customs that he himself has ignored before.

Imagine explaining that to the men, women, and children who are in
desperate need of this medicine.

Click to add your name to this message: "Senator Reid, the lives of
millions around the world matter more than the feelings of 7 of your
Senate colleagues. Bring the global AIDS, TB, and malaria bill up for a
vote as soon as possible."

Time isn't on our side: the Senate is about to go on break. But our friend
Kaytee at Health GAP (one of the main organizations working on this) is
meeting with Senator Reid's office very soon.

She thinks if she can show him that people really care about this, we
might have a shot at saving this bill. Can you add your name?

After you sign, spread the word. Remember: this is a moral issue, not a
partisan one--the House voted for the bill by an overwhelming 308-116. So
please forward this to folks you wouldn't normally send MoveOn emails to.

Thanks for all you do,
